Step into a playful imagination of Caitlin Ramsay (1996-2024) in HOOKED: The Whimsical World of Caitlin Ramsay, a celebration of the beloved local artist’s creativity and spirit.
A self-taught textile artist with a fascination and love for animals and the natural world, Caitlin transformed yarn into vivid expressions of life both real and fantastical – from the creatures of the deep to those found in our own backyards.
Through her intricate crochet works, visitors are invited to rediscover the wonder of nature, craft, and imagination – and to see how artistry can transform the everyday into something extraordinary.
HOOKED brings together a collection of Caitlin’s distinctive works as part of the Outside Art movement, honouring her joyful perspective and enduring connection between creativity, curiosity, and care for the world around us.

Over 400 visitors were able to view Caitlin’s work during the premiere exhibition HOOKED: The Whimsical World of Caitlin Ramsay, presented in one of Caitlin’s favourite places in Mackay, the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens.
